Water & Fire
The beauty of streams is the water that flows through them, so I designed the artificial streams in The Secret Persian Garden to make them look as if water is flowing constantly through them.
And with its southern fireplace, The Secret Persian Garden begins with water and ends with fire, complementing the use of earth and air in other parts of the residence to incorporate all four essential elements of life (water, earth, air, and fire) into the residence.
In addition, the presence of fire in the garden not only warms the atmosphere but also imbues the garden with the spirit of life, making the garden warm and hospitable no matter the season.
There is also another fire pit located in the northwest corner of the site. This pit warms the northern part of the residence during cold seasons. The pit takes an organic shape (a big circle) and is made of natural rocks we found while excavating the site.
